Swing Set Stuff Inc. started when our president was having trouble finding quality swing set products locally and online for the set he was building for his own children. He decided to bring those hard to find items to others that are also having trouble locating quality swing set products.
Some of the products we sell are different types of swings, trapeze bars, climbing rocks, hardware, rope ladders, complete swing sets, etc. We specialize in quality swing set equipment commercial and residential grade. All of our items are higher quality then anything you would find in your local home center. We pride ourselves with great products and great customer service.
You might be wondering what the difference is between a swing set kit and a full swing set. Let’s explore both a bit to give you a better understanding.
Swing Set Kits: There are several forms of swing set kits. There are some kits that include everything and some kits that need you to add some things like wood or slides, etc. If you are handy or have a licensed installer that will do the work for you a kit might be a good choice. It may also save you some money by allowing for you to purchase your own wood and by saving you money on having a full set shipped to you. Kits are also great as most of them will come with instructions for building different layouts so you can pick which will best fit in your application. Another great thing about kits, sometimes you just want to add a rock wall or monkey bar setup. By purchasing the kit, you get just what you need and nothing more. Kits also take the guess work out of what accessories you need as there are kits that will include all the pieces needed.
Full Swing Sets: There are so many swing set options available. If you do not have the time to choose all the different options, you want, like in a kit, then it may be better to purchase a full swing set. You are sure to find a full swing set with a layout that will have everything you need and work in your application.
Hope this helps when you are trying to choose between a full swing set and swing set kit. Both are great options!
Most of the items we sell are pretty easy to install. However, we recommend that you contact a licensed installer on anything you are not equipped to handle yourself. Below will cover a few pointers for installing some of our items.
Swings:Are you replacing an already existing swing? If so then you can purchase one of our swings fully assembled with chain and attach to your existing swing hangers. There are some things to consider with this before purchasing.
Are your current swing hangers usable and if so, are they open ended or closed loop? If they are closed loop our clips that come with our fully assembled swing are included and will clip right to those swing hangers. If they are open ended swing hangers the clips are not needed as you can hook your chain right to the open end of the swing hanger.
Do you need to replace your swing hangers? We recommend replacing most swing hangers every 2 years or sooner if there is wear. If you need swing hangers, we have several options. Some things to consider with swing hangers are beam size and if you need commercial or residential.
Are you just replacing your swing seat or just the chain? We offer per piece options as well with instructions on how you can attach them. Please note that replacing just the seat or chain does require tools which you may not have at home.
Accessories: Are you looking at purchasing an accessory like our periscope, telescope or steering wheel? We offer full instructions with these items as well. These items are made for attachment to a wood set. Please keep in mind that the hardware included is for that type of application.
Climbing rocks: Our rocks come in 2 sizes large and small. The hardware included in both sizes is for 5/4 board. We do offer longer hardware for additional purchase as shown in our product instructions.
Have more questions on installing our accessories or swings? You can visit our product instruction page below or feel free to contact us anytime.
Tire swings can be purchased with everything included or per piece depending on what you need. You can also create your own tire swing easily with the necessary parts.
The main thing you need to consider is where the swing is going to mount. If you are replacing one this will be easy but if you plan to build one there is much to consider. Tire swings move not only front to back but also side to side and spin 360 degrees. A proper sturdy mount is needed to support that motion. A licensed installer can help with building you a suitable tire swing beam.
If you plan to make your own tire swing and not purchase one pre-built, you will need the following items:
Are you looking to give your swing set a face-lift? Replacing parts for most wood swing sets is easy. There are things on most wood sets that are considered standard like swing seats, accessories, chain however there are some things that are not considered standard.
The first thing you need to consider is your swing beam size. If you have a standard beam it is likely 8ft from the ground. So, when replacing swings for an 8ft beam you would want to make sure you purchase swings with chain that is 5.5ft in length. If your beam is 9-10ft from the ground, then you will need 8.5ft chain. Other then chain length all other aspects of your swing should be interchangeable. Do you need to replace swing hangers? You will need to know the thickness of your beam to purchase the correct ones. Other then that you can choose which ever option works best for your application. Are you replacing rocks? You only need to consider the hardware size for the type of wall you have. Replacing accessories like telephone, periscope, steering wheel, etc.? If you have a spot to mount to your wood set that’s really all you need. Do you need a replacement tarp? These are not standard to all sets and need to be measured properly. Once you have the measurements you can purchase a custom tarp to the specs you need.
Swing Set Stuff Inc. offers a lot of replacement parts for revamping an existing swing set. We offer gliders, slides, swings, climbing options and more!
Just because your play set did not come with a glider does not mean you have to go without. Gliders can be added to an existing set with a little know how. Gliders require and four-point attachment. Right away you are probably thinking, “I don’t have a four-point attachment.” Let us help!
You have two mounting options to add a glider to your play seat.
Monkey Bar Set up: If you have a monkey bar set up you can use four swing hangers, one on each side of the monkey bar wood. This will give you a four-point attachment and the swing hangers will give you the back and forth motion needed for the glider. Please note the glider will be in the way of using the monkey bars so if you are still wanting to access the monkey bars this may not be the right application for you.
Single Beam Set up: The second option is to build or buy a glider bracket. Glider brackets create the four-point attachment needed but mount on your center single beam. If purchasing a bracket, make sure they come with the swing hangers. If you are building your own, you will need to purchase those and any additional hardware and wood you need to attach it to your swing beam.
Safety note: Please be sure all attaching wood either a monkey set up or single beam set up can support the glider and the hardware you are using. If you do not have the proper wood supports on your swing set in either application, we do not recommend adding the glider. We always recommend you get a licensed installer for all work you need done.
Now you see that you do have options when considering a glider. We would be happy to answer any glider questions you may have!
Looking to build a commercial pipe swing set? Here are a few suggestions to help in your project.
Use schedule 40 pipe: When building a pipe set you should always use schedule 40 pipe. If you use nonstandard pipe you will likely run into issues finding correctly fitting hardware to continue with your project.
Pipe Size: When it comes to deciding on what pipe size to use, consider the following:
Are swing hangers available in the size you need? Pipe swing hangers only come in certain sizes so be sure to check the swing hanger sizes available.
You will need end frame fittings. These are also only available in certain pipe sizes so be sure to check that as well.
Middle frame fitting: You may need a middle frame fitting. The top pipe that you use for your main beam can only span so long before you will need to add a middle frame fitting. You can consult a licensed installer for more information.
Tripod or Bi-pod: When choosing your end frame fittings and middle frame fittings you have the option or 2 leg or 3 leg.
Hardware and accessories: Don’t forget to buy all hardware and accessories that you need to complete your set.
Safety note: Please be sure to consult a licensed installer on all projects.
Pipe Swing Sets are great for commercial settings or if you just want a sturdy set for your backyard. If you do not have a license installer to build one for you, we do sell these types of sets in full. Please feel free to contact Swing Set Stuff Inc. for any questions.
